All-Star WCS J&J Videos

Skill level – have earned 45 or more Advanced points.  Jack & Jill contests allow individuals to enter without a partner and demonstrate skills in spontaneous dancing with a variety of partners. There is an inherent “luck of the draw” factor involved. Leaders and followers are randomly paired. There will be several partner changes during the preliminary and semi-final rounds. Competitors are scored individually on timing, technique and teamwork in the preliminary heats. Those scoring the highest will be called back later to dance in a final round. In the final, individuals are randomly paired, then scored as a couple. The DJ picks the music.

Open J&J Experiement

Dancers will be scored as individuals in the first round. The scores will be tallied and each dancer will be assigned a competitive level for the semi final round (tier). The number of Tiers will be determined by the number of entries. Total number of leaders will be divided by the number of tiers to determine placement in tier. Likewise, the same for followers. The top 10 from each semi final will advance to their respective final. Tier 1 Finals danced to live piano playing by Lura Johnson.

WCS J&J Tournament

National Jack’n’Jill Tour for Novice to Advanced Level Dancers.  At each event, a prelims will be run as a luck of the draw contest. The top 16 leaders and followers will advance to a finals round. The finals will be held as a tournament. In the tournament, new partners will be randomly assigned and seeded (ranked).

As the music plays, two couples at a time will dance against each other and will be judged immediately following their dance. One couple advances, one couple is eliminated, starting with 16 couples and ending with one winning couple!
